Documenting the moment, one event at a time.
Boston
I received my Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Emerson College, where I learned the many facets of multimedia journalism. Whether it be through the school’s radio station WERS-FM, The Berkeley Beacon newspaper, or WEBN Television, I got to have unforgettable experiences that have shaped my understanding of journalism. Through attending presidential campaign stops and off-the-wall sporting events, I’ve built a multifaceted understanding of society and those trying to write their own histories.
Washington, D.C.
Out of all my newsgathering experiences, none have been so profound as the ones that occurred in our nation’s capital. Situated at the intersection of politics and culture lies the District of Columbia, with all of the nation’s influence and constant attention. I have had the opportunity to intern for professional media organizations such as C-SPAN and CNN, each giving me a unique perspective of reporting the news out of Capitol Hill. While working with C-SPAN Radio, I wrote scripts for the daily drive-time program Washington Today. For CNN, I assisted their entire Capitol Hill team with disseminating news in the new COVID-19 world, writing speech summaries and news reports for the entire press pool.
A Civics Foundation
Ever since elementary school, I have had a fascination with politics and sharing important stories. I remember vividly in fourth grade watching the Inauguration of President Barack Obama throughout the entire school day. Events like that, as well as the entire run up to the 2008 Presidential Election, helped me understand the importance of politics at a very young age. I was able to build on that interest all throughout primary school, eventually becoming Editor-in-Chief of my school newspaper, The Captain’s Log of Toms River High School North, and Speaker of the House at the 2017 New Jersey Model Congress. This interest would not have bloomed without the illuminating civics education from my fantastic teachers.
