Newsgathering Internship, DC Bureau - CNN

Massachusetts House Broadcast Services
Before the onset of the pandemic, I got the chance to intern at the Massachusetts State House. There, I researched relevant legislation in preparation for public meetings. I assisted a production team during coverage of live hearings, gavel-to-gavel, from the House of Representatives. On top of this, I filmed b-roll of landmarks both around Boston and within the State House. All throughout my time, I learned the legislative process and procedure on a state government level.
Programming - Politics Intern for C-SPAN
While working in Washington, D.C. I had the amazing opportunity to intern for C-SPAN and work under the guidance of host, producer, and editor Steve Scully. Working with C-SPAN Radio, I helped produce Washington Today, a daily drive time wrap-up of events on Capitol Hill. I also organized interviews with presidential candidates and reporters from various outlets. In addition, I made editorial judgements regarding breaking news on impeachment, climate change, etc.
On the Beat with the Senator Elizabeth Warren Presidential Campaign
As the 2020 Presidential Election drew closer, I was assigned to cover the Warren campaign as she began her efforts to win the nomination. I interviewed the candidate several times, asking about the race and the state of the Democratic Party.
