Programming - Politics Intern for C-SPAN
While working in Washington, D.C. I had the amazing opportunity to intern for C-SPAN and work under the guidance of host, producer, and editor Steve Scully. Working with C-SPAN Radio, I helped produce Washington Today, a daily drive time wrap-up of events on Capitol Hill. I also organized interviews with presidential candidates and reporters from various outlets. In addition, I made editorial judgements regarding breaking news on impeachment, climate change, etc.
On this particular project, I had the opportunity to assist with C-SPAN Radio's recording of "The Weekly," a podcast where the host, often Steve Scully, interviews newsmakers in Washington to put national issues in perspective. The team traveled to the West Wing to interview Kellyanne Conway, then-Senior Aide to the President.
As part of C-SPAN Radio's daily drive-time show "Washington Today," I tasked myself with getting sound from the various Veterans Day services around the National Mall. Since it was the holiday, I suggested getting the sound on-site to fill the show's airtime. My sound from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on the C-SPAN show page begins at 17:50.
