National Trans Visibility March

The first ever National Trans Visibility March brought hundreds of supporters from around the country to Pennsylvania Avenue. Activists, both at the march and at a rally beforehand, were calling for increased protections from discrimination towards the transgender community.

Marchers walked down Pennsylvania Avenue in memory of 18 black trans women murdered this year, chanting “stop killing our girls.”

Shawn Demmons and Lynn Morrison took to the podium to recognize their fellow march organizers behind them.

Hundreds of people took part in the march, many bussed from other cities around the country.
